Diamond coatings (coatings/particle coatings) are mainly divided into two categories: particle surface metallization and surface continuous thin films. The core processes are as follows:
1、 Diamond particle surface coating (abrasive metal plating)
1. Electroplating method (most commonly used)
Principle: Electrochemical deposition, nickel/nickel cobalt precipitates on the surface of diamond
Features: Mature process, low cost, moderate adhesion, and average thickness uniformity
Applicable: Grinding wheels, grinding heads, electroplated grinding tools.
2. Chemical plating (electroless deposition)
Principle: Autocatalytic reaction (nickel phosphorus/nickel boron)
Features: Uniform wrapping, complete wrapping even in complex shapes, good adhesion, low stress
Disadvantages: slow speed, short lifespan of plating solution, high cost.
